Somehow, almost inexplicably, I am writing about my third album.
When I began recording solo under the SawdEye moniker 'lo those many years ago, I didn't think it would take me here, much less with these songs in its wake. When I finished work on MAUZNER, I couldn't help but feel that songs like "Goodbye to You" and "Displeasure!" were the best things I had written. After finishing that disc, I felt totally exhausted with recording and took a much-needed break. A few months later, when I finally did get into writing songs again, something strange happen: the pressure to finish a particular release ... it wasn't there anymore.
Slowly but surely, songs like "Unrequited" and "Again and Again" formed a backbone of which to build off of, and other songs gradually fell into place. When I finished recording "When God Fell to Pieces", it honestly felt like I had created an actual album: the best possible snapshot of where I am right now in my life. It's hard to really write much beyond that, simply because I think most of these songs speak for themselves.
And now, I share them with you. Thanks for all of your support over the years -- it means so damn much. Now ... get ready to rock.
